Product Description
Established in year 1988, we are Maharashtra based company engaged in business of manufacturing Modifier Cover Flux. It is required for melting of aluminum & its alloys in order to control oxide formation and inclusion of non-metallic impurities. This compound works by minimizing hydrogen gas formation and collecting metallic oxides. Offered Modifier Cover Flux forms a protective layer over melted metal which results in reduction of oxidation.
Features:
Modifier Cover Flux
Modifier Covering Flux supplied by us is widely used in non-ferrous foundries like aluminium foundry, etc. The wide range of Cover Flux provided by us is in great demand in aluminium melting for covering, protecting and cleaning molten metal.
This is a modifying type of flux for Aluminum-Silicon alloys at low melting temperatures. The charge is melted under COVER FLUX SP-I & after required temperature is attained, degassing has to be performed with DEGASSER-SP-I. Rabble the surface of the melt & skim off the dross cleanly.
Now sprinkle COVER FLUX SP-II about 3% by weight of metal over the cleaned surface. As soon as the flux layer liquefies, work well into the melt for 3-4 minutes by using tools. Now sprinkle another quantity of COVER FLUX SP-I on surface of melt & wait until the correct pouring temperature is reached. Finally skim off the metal free dross and pour the metal without delay.
Packing: 50 packets of 1 kg. Packed in 50 kgs. Double Polylined Hessian sacks, which is solid enough to withstand shakes and jolts of transportation.
Reliable Solution for Aluminium Alloy CastingModifier Cover Flux is engineered to efficiently cover and protect molten aluminium alloys. By minimizing oxidation and reducing inclusions, it elevates the quality of metal castings. This industrial-grade flux provides both modification and covering functions, facilitating better results during the casting process in metallurgical operations.
Composition and StabilityThe flux comprises carefully balanced fluxing agents, chlorides, and fluorides in a powdered solid form. With a melting point in the range of 620C to 680C and a neutral pH, it remains stable during application. Its odorless and tasteless nature makes it safe to handle in standard foundry environments.
Practical Storage and ApplicationModifier Cover Flux must be stored in a dry, cool area, sealed properly to maintain quality. It is formulated to industry standards, with a density of 2.0 g/cm, and offers effective results across various aluminium alloy casting scenarios.
FAQs of Modifier Cover Flux:
Q: How is Modifier Cover Flux used in aluminium alloy casting?
A: The flux is sprinkled or poured onto the surface of molten aluminium alloys in the furnace or crucible. It acts as a protective layer, reducing oxidation and helping to remove impurities before the metal is cast.
Q: What benefits does Modifier Cover Flux provide in the metallurgical industry?
A: Modifier Cover Flux enhances cast metal quality by minimizing oxidation, controlling non-metallic inclusions, and improving surface finish. This ensures higher yield and better end-product performance in various metallurgical processes.
Q: When should Modifier Cover Flux be applied during the casting process?
A: It should be introduced after the metal reaches its required molten state but before any pouring or casting operation. This timing helps to shield the molten alloy from atmospheric contamination and facilitates impurity removal.
Q: Where should Modifier Cover Flux be stored for optimal performance?
A: The product requires storage in a dry, cool environment, with packaging kept sealed to prevent moisture absorption and maintain its effectiveness over time.
Q: What is the process of working with Modifier Cover Flux?
A: During the aluminium alloy melting stage, spread the flux evenly over the molten metals surface. Allow it to melt and perform its covering and impurity-absorbing functions before skimming off any residues prior to casting.
Q: Is Modifier Cover Flux soluble in water, and what is its physical state?
A: Modifier Cover Flux is not soluble in water and is supplied as a powdered solid, making it easy to handle and apply in metallurgical settings.
Q: What safety or handling considerations are recommended for Modifier Cover Flux?
A: Ensure handling in well-ventilated areas, use standard industrial protective equipment, and always store the flux in a cool, dry, sealed location, following industry guidelines for powdered solid materials.
